The ingredients needed to make Basic sponge cake:
  1. You need 2 whole egg + 3 egg yolk
  2. Use 100 gr sugar
  3. Take 50 gr cake flour
  4. Prepare 10 gr corn starch
  5. Use 15 gr milk powder
  6. Use 1/2 tsp salt
  7. Provide 30 gr vegetable oil
  8. Get 45 gr melted butter
  9. You need 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions to make Basic sponge cake:
  1. Preheate oven to 175c. Line 18cm square pan with baking paper. Combine and sift dry ingredients.
  2. Beat eggs, sugar, and salt with electric mixer, high speed until ribbon stage. About 10-15mins.
  3. Stop mixer, use spatula, fold in sifted flour in 4 batches. Gently. Dont over mix.
  4. Fold in melted butter 3 spoonful at a time. And vanilla extract. Gently and swiftly. Careful not to deflate the batter. Tap 3x on kitchen counter to remove air bubbles.
  5. Pour in prepared pan. Bake 175c for 30mins.
  6. Unmould from pan and invert on cooling rack. Cake height should be about 6/6,3cm. Garnish as desired.
