- Take 1 *** I use fresh squeezed key lime juice
- Prepare 1 ****I zest some key limes and add about 1-2 tablespoons into the pie and reserve some for garnish
- Use 1 Eagle Brand classic version
- You need 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- Provide 4 egg yolks lightly beaten
- Use 1/2 cup key lime juice
- Prepare 1 9" ready made graham cracker pie crust
Steps to make Key lime pie
From Eagle Brand:
- Preheat oven to 350
- In large bowl mix sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks on low speed. Do not over mix. Slowly add key lime juice and mix on low speed till ingredients are well mixed. *** fold in 1-2 TB key lime zest if desired.
- Cover edges of pie crust with pie crust shield or foil so edges don't burn. Pour mixture into desired pie crust and bake on 350 till no longer jiggly and toothpick comes out clean.
- Chill and serve with whipped cream. Garnish with left over zest if desired.
