Before you jump to Easy Garlicky Cheddar Biscuits w/Self-Rising Flour recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about Easy Ways to Get Healthy.

We all know that, in order to really be healthy, nutritious and balanced diets are important as are good amounts of exercise. Sadly, there isn’t often enough time or energy for us to really do the things we want to do. At the end of the day, almost everyone want to go home, not to the gym. A hot, grease laden burger is usually our food of choice and not a crunchy green salad (unless we are vegetarians). The good news is that making healthy decisions doesn’t have to be a chore. With practice you can get all of the nutrients and the exercise that you need. Here are some tips to be as healthy as possible.

Run the stairs. Instead of picking the elevator, climb the stairs to your floor. Obviously this isn’t as possible if you work on the 25th floor of a high rise, but if you work on the fourth, climbing the stairs is a excellent way to get some exercise in. If you do work on a extremely high floor, why not get off the elevator a few floors early and walk the rest of the way? Most people will choose to be sluggish and take an elevator instead of opting for exercise on the stairs. Even just a individual flight of stairs, when travelled up or down a few times a day–can be a great boost to your system.

There are a good deal of things that contribute to your getting healthy. An overpriced gym membership and very restrictive diets are not the only way to do it. You can do small things every day to improve upon your health and lose weight. Make smart choices every day is a great start. Getting as much exercise as possible is another factor. Remember: being healthy and balanced isn’t just about losing weight. You need to make your body as strong as possible.

The ingredients needed to prepare Easy Garlicky Cheddar Biscuits w/Self-Rising Flour:
  1. Take topping
  2. Prepare 2 tbsp butter, melted
  3. Use 1 pinch of garlic powder
  4. Prepare 1/2 tbsp Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb Seasoning
  5. You need biscuit
  6. Take 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  7. Prepare 1 cup milk
  8. Get 1/4 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
  9. You need 2 cup self-rising flour
Instructions to make Easy Garlicky Cheddar Biscuits w/Self-Rising Flour:
  1. preheat oven to 425°F
  2. add cold butter pieces to flour, cut into flour until crumbly (I start with a pastry cutter, but then use my hands, and just rub the butter and flour between my fingers)
  3. add 1/2 C milk, mix together, adding more milk if needed, until mixture pulls from side of bowl and sticks together
  4. add cheese, mix well (it's easier to mix this in with your hands to be sure the cheese is evenly distributed) keep mixing until all/most of cheese sticks in dough, instead of falling back into bowl
  5. roll dough out flat, approximately 1/2 - 3/4 inches thick
  6. cut biscuits from dough, either using biscuit cutter or an upturned glass, repeat steps 5 & 6 until theres only enough dough left for one biscuit, shape by hand & add to others (this one will be the ugly- I mean, 'rustic' biscuit, lol)
  7. place cut biscuits on baking sheet about 1" apart, bake until tops are nicely browned (this took approximately 12 minutes in my oven)
  8. while biscuits are baking, add topping ingredients together in a bowl, stirring well. (this should smell VERY garlicky, and ingredients can be adjusted more or less to your taste)
  9. once biscuits are done, remove from oven and immediately brush tops of biscuits with garlic butter mixture, repeating until it's gone. (make sure you get the herby bits from the bottom of the bowl while brushing! don't leave them behind!)
  10. as soon as they're cool enough to handle, eat & enjoy!
  11. Notes: *this recipe is great for people with egg allergies! - - *even the two pickiest eaters in the house loved these, so they should be a hit as long as garlic isn't a problem ;-)
  12. Caution: if your family loves biscuits, or you're serving more than 4, you might want to double (or triple) this recipe… I got 9 biscuits from this, and with 3 adults eating, we only had 2 left!
  13. Notes II: I adapted this recipe from a recipe I found on the King Arthur Flour website for plain Self-Rising Flour Biscuits.
