Until fairly recently any person who indicated concern about the degradation of the environment raised skeptical eyebrows. That has totally changed now, since we all appear to have an awareness that the planet is having troubles, and we all have a part to play in fixing it. The experts are agreed that we are not able to transform things for the better without everyone’s active participation. Each and every family should start making changes that are environmentally friendly and they must do this soon. Here are some tips that can help you save energy, for the most part by making your kitchen area more green.

Begin with replacing the lights. This will probably go outside of the kitchen, nevertheless that is okay. Compact fluorescent lightbulbs are energy-savers, and you must use them in place of incandescent lights. These bulbs are usually energy-efficient which means electricity consumption is actually lower, and, while they cost a bit more to buy, will outlast an incandescent light ten times over. One of the pluses is that for every one of these lightbulbs used, it signifies that approximately ten normal lightbulbs less will certainly end up at a landfill site. You also have to get the routine of turning off the lights when there is nobody in a place. The family spends considerable time in the kitchen, and how often does the kitchen light go on in the morning and is left on all day long. Obviously this also happens in other rooms, not merely the kitchen. Try keeping the lights off unless you absolutely need them, and see how much electricity you can save.

The kitchen on its own provides you with many small means by which energy and money can be saved. It is pretty straightforward to live green, of course. Largely, all it will take is a little bit of common sense.

Steps to make Instant pot egg bites:
  1. Spray the silicone egg bites mold with the cooking spray. Then Set aside.
  2. Add the eggs, cottage cheese, heavy cream, (use whatever cheese you love) Gruyére cheese, pepper, and chives to the blender and blend for 2 minutes on medium speed, or blend well or until the mixture is light and fully. Be careful not to blend dark ingredients with you egg mixture. The result could look nasty but taste delicious.
  3. Next fill the egg bite mold openings halfway with the egg mixture. Then add 3/4 of the chopped bacon or other add-ins you decided on (I used mushrooms and corn) and gently press them in. Continue filling with the egg mixture, and top with remaining bacon, and press it in.
  4. Pour 1 cup of water into the inner stainless liner of the pot. Then set the full egg bites mold on the trivet and very carefully set it in the pot. Loosely cover with foil.
  5. Close the lid of the pot and set the steam release knob to the sealing position.
  6. Press the Pressure Cook or Manual button (or dial) then press the +/- button (or dial) to select 8 minutes. The pot will take a few minutes to come to pressure.
  7. When the cook cycle is finished, let the pot sit undisturbed for 8 minutes (8 minute Natural Release). Then open the steam release valve to Quick Release the remaining pressure until the pin in the lid drops down.
  8. Open the lid and remove the foil. Use silicone mitts to grasp the trivet handles and carefully remove the egg bites mold. Set aside to rest for about 4 minutes. They may be puffed up quite a bit, but they will go back down. They will come out of the mold easier if they cool a little.
  9. Serve warm as is, or with any garnish you like.
